Salt air is hard on a badly prepped floor.
Burrum Heads is holiday houses, weekenders and a lot of open outdoor living, which means most of the work here is patios, alfresco slabs, carports and boat parking rather than closed-up garages.
Outdoor and coastal is where shortcuts show up fastest. Moisture moving through a slab, salt in the air and full Queensland sun will find any coating that wasn’t keyed in properly or finished with a UV-stable topcoat. So that’s what we do here — grind it, seal it, and put a topcoat on it that can live outside.

Do you come out to Burrum Heads?
Yes — Burrum Heads is around forty minutes from our base in Hervey Bay and it’s a regular run for us.

Does epoxy hold up in a coastal, salt-air spot?
Yes, provided the slab was prepped properly and the topcoat is UV stable.
The salt itself isn’t what kills coatings — poor bonding and sun are. We diamond grind so the coating keys into the concrete, and anything exposed gets a UV-stable topcoat so it doesn’t chalk or yellow.
Can you coat an outdoor patio or boat parking area?
That’s most of what we do at Burrum Heads.
Outdoor slabs get a textured finish so they’re not slick when they’re wet, and a UV-stable seal over the top. Tell us the rough square meterage and how the area gets used and we’ll match the finish to it.
